Angela E.L. Barnes serves as the General Counsel, Director of Legal Affairs & Growth Initiatives for City Tech Collaborative. In her role, Angela handles all legal issues and provides strategic leadership for growth opportunities of the company. Angela has extensive experience advising corporations in highly regulated industries, including; insurance, technology, construction, engineering, and real estate. She has helped numerous charitable and philanthropic entities define and manage their risk profiles and strategies.
Angela has been actively involved on the board of directors of various charitable organizations throughout Chicago for over 25 years. She currently sits on the board of directors for the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless and serves as the President of the board of directors for the Center on Halsted.
Prior to joining City Tech, Angela served as General Counsel & Director of Business Operations for MxD (formerly known as UI LABS), where she handled all legal and compliance issues for the company.
Angela was awarded her Juris Doctor from Columbia University and Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College. She is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) and a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE).
